About GENERALSTAB
GENERALSTAB are a group of dedicated WW2 re-enactors who specialise in living-history displays representing a German Wehrmacht headquarters. Our members portray senior Staff Officers, including Generals, and associated staff personel eg: Signals, Security, Transport etc. Our aim is to show how the German senior commanders and their entourage appeared during WW2 from the Russian Steppes to Normandy.
The public will be able to observe the General Staff Officers planning their strategies and organising their forces with the use of original German Kriegskarten (war maps), and original communications equipment and follow in their footsteps as they inspect the German front-line soldiers who are about to go into action and deliver a morale boosting speech (in German of course).
The uniforms and equipment used by GENERALSTAB are either original WW2 items or the very highest quality reproductions available. In some cases items of uniform have been professionally tailor-made as the originals would have been made for senior Staff Officers at the time. The awards and decorations worn by both the Officers and other ranks have been meticulously researched for authenticity.
We are always keen to hear from anyone who is interested in assisting GENERALSTAB with our displays, particularly the owners of suitable Staff vehicles such as Kübelwagens, M/Cycles, Signals Trucks and requisitioned civilian Staff cars.
Years of study and the experience gained by re-enacting the German soldier and meeting veterans of the German forces of WW2 have provided us with a wealth of expert knowledge on the subject and over the years our skills have been tapped by television documentaries, specialist magazines and several major films.
We are a non-political group and seek to portray the uniforms and equipment of the German officers and staff of World War II. Anyone attempting to use the group as an outlet to promote or further their own extreme poltical beliefs or ideals will not be tolerated. |
